Meg Ryan, born Margaret Mary Emily Anne Hyra, 19 November 1961 in Fairfield, Connecticut, is an American actress and producer who plays mainly – but not exclusively – in romantic comedies.
Ryan studied journalism at New York University. She turned to the profession of actress’ round her for months, “a student. After her first role figurante, Ryan plays the character Betsy in the daily soap opera As the World Turns from 1982 to 1984. The directors of this program especially love working with her because she can cry on demand.
After several television films and small appearances in movies, her first major role was in the romantic comedy When Harry met Sally. She tries several times to break this image and gets excellent reviews for his work in When a Man Loves a Woman – where she plays an alcoholic – and Courage Under Fire – where she plays an officer killed in combat. Meg Ryan married actor Dennis Quaid in 1991 after sharing the spotlight in two movies. They have one child together, Jack Henry, born April 24 1992, Meg Ryan had broken off relations with his mother in recent years. The couple divorce July 16 in 2001 after Ryan have had a relationship with Russell Crowe while filming. This episode tarnishes the reputation of the actress with some of his American audience. His films no longer meet the same success at the box office since then.
In 2003 it broke with its traditional roles and plays in In the Cut, an erotic thriller and black. In promoting the film, Ryan earns the wrath of the British press with a considered rude behavior on the set of the issuance of Michael Parkinson, ignoring the other guests and Parkinson suggesting to put an end to the interview.
