Ashanti Shaquoya “Shani Bani” Douglas, known by his stage name Ashanti (born 13 October 1980 in Glen Cove on the island of Long Island in New York) is a singer also R’n'B actress. Career Ashanti S. Douglas started in 1994, during a competition for young talent. She met producer Irv Gotti that belongs to the Murder Inc label. Records. Ashanti recorded a duet with rapper Big Punisher. It also contributes to the soundtrack of Fast & Furious in 2001.
